Just looked at my front tyres, they look pretty sorry for themselves which has kinda come out of nowhere

I definately need them changing, but I wanna be sure of whether I can last till payday or not before doing so. I'd like to stay out of my overdraft until mid january

The main tread in the middle of the tyre is fine, just the outsides are bald as hell. Would this be alright in the event of a police checkpoint? I'll get some pics up when I find my phone datacable

nope, across the tyre, the minumim is 1,6mm. You can have a perfect outer edge and slick inner edge (caused by camber) and its illegal.

I'd say get em changed ASAP, especially in this weather...

The legal limit for tyre tread is 1.6mm across 75% of the tyre, and the rest with visible tread. IMO they will be illegal.

Also, if there bald on the outside, i'd get the camber checked and tyre pressures.

1.6mm on the central 3/4 of the tread, the shoulders can be worn but not dangerously worn,

On this note, I'll probably get away with it. Been for another look with a torch - the edges are worn but the middles ok-ish.

I'm still getting them changed ASAP though

Can get two Toyo Proxes T1-R 205/45 R16 for £136 delivered and fitted.

Any good?
