end of the day i like a car that is boring like gsi because it becomes a challenge to make it handle and feels bit twitchy sometimes gives you that heart-beating edge when pushing it abit...
as opposed to clio which just handles...... reason above is still why i love my xe corsa to the challenge to make it handle, take driver input

no as the gsi as previously stated was bought for me and mrs to go shopping/days out etc etc etc but sometimes i take it for a spin, and yes i admit is handles rubbish compared to 182 but if i was chasing you down a b-road id love to make my gsi keep up through my input etc etc lets face it you wont get away it will just feel better for you in the 182
my big headed mate in his type r cant get away

this is in no way aimed at any car inpaticular but since getting my civic compared to my corsa b I can honestly say I have been missing out.
Sure the corsa was fun but having a car that gives more feedback etc is so much better.

so the astra is a generally boring car, or just boring in comparison the the clio? im no boy racer and whichever i get probably wont see a track.
also for those who were interested im 21 and will have 1 year ncd when i buy it, insurance is comin in at £1300 for the astra and 1400 for the clio both fully comp.

thats what im saying but you still wont be that much quicker or the average person wont be but the person in a car with better feedback will feel better but still wont be much quicker..
lee its not a boring car if you turn esp/traction control off lol that button should have skull and crossbones on it not car skidding
i like mine and there for will stick up for it overall reliability for me 100%, performance 75%, handling 50%, looks etc 100%, build quality 80%, overall 80-85% for me nice car not best but nice

ah didnt realise you had only one years ncb thats why your quotes are more then mine
tbh mate find one of each to test drive and make up your own mind everyone likes something differnet. The astra is hardly going to fall off into the nearest hedge etc

yes very true. Give a proffesional driver a astra gsi and your average joe a 182 and im sure we all know what the outcome will be

yeah that includes my dd ban as well so the quotes are really good imo!
im unsure i get the impression if i drive the clio the astra will feel like a barge, i may just test the astra and see how i like it! im guessin its not a bad handling car just not as good as the clio?

oh if those quotes include a ban they are very good
go on the evo website and into the reveiws archive. They have reviews of both. iirc they say the astra is plenty capable enough just lacked some feel.

Get off your high horse, this thread is comparing a clio and a astra you bafoon, the clio IMO yes i'm allowed one, is a much better spec'ed, reliable more involving to drive and overall quicker car. Now kindly STFU
