Earlier our landlord came over with an electrician to sort something out in the house, the front door was open (landlord was standing by the door), I was about to go into the garage to turn off the mains when one of our greyhounds made a run for it!

After running after her for ages I finally caught up with her. She went to the corner shop near where we live!

Moral of the story - greyhounds may outrun humans, but they know where food is...

When the dog and I got back home (slowly, as I was trying to breathe properly PMSL) the landlord was just standing by the front door LOL'ing at me.

Might ask my other half if we can have slower dogs next time, like dacshunds or something...
