My mate owns a 97 corsa and the starter motor is playing up so hes going to replace it. whats a rough price a garage would charge or do you think it would be easy enough to go to the scrapies and fit one himself ? how easy is it ?

wouldn't be alot from a scrappy, and not the biggest job, but maybe have someone who has a clue what they are doing.
