Looking at getting a sound system for christmas.

I want a double 12" set up with a pretty decent amp.

My budget is £350. Is there anything out there which you guys/girls would recomend?

I'd think the other way round really, not a big fan of the hard harsh sound the Type R's make.. not very warm IMO

Depends what kinda sound you want though...

Personally I'd go for one 12" high power jobbie in a custom built vented enclosure tuned to around 33Hz.

Be as loud as 2x12's and prob drop lower, but all again depending on what you listen to.

www.talkaudio.co.uk go on their forums mate can't go wrong

Dunna worry mate I'm a big jump up fan and liking a lot of dubstep at the mo, but I aint a chav lol

I dunno, for big bass and 350 quid, I reckon you could get good results.

I've got a 25 quid JBL GT5 12" sub, JBL GTO75.2 291w RMS amp, 1.8 cubic foot box vented and tuned to 33Hz and for stuff like that its the bollocks

Cost me 95 quid for all that.

As I say, I'd deffo be on talkaudio.co.uk - they know their shit and will recommend the best for your budget and listening tastes... You could get some big excersion sub and a nice vented box easily within that budget, summat that'd blow a couple of crap Type R subs in a cheap sealed box to bits I reckon.

EDIT: if you've got infinite boot space, 2 x 12" subs in a vented and properly tuned enclosure would be mental fun Honestly a couple of GT5 subs and a big monoblock JBL amp would impress you in the right sized and tuned enclosure. Easily done for £350 and a damn site louder than in a cheap shite sealed box.

Yeah i'm a massive jump up fan, been mixing jump up for well over 5 years now. So i want something that can cope with my music taste. I'd want a double 12" though. I'll check that site out. Cheers mate.

I used do a bit of DJ'ing myself, just a hobby though but sold my decks last year, regret it now.

Loving latest jump up, crazy basslines and distorted synths make it sound proper rude bwoooy, love it haha

I run a single 12" Type R off of a 700w Alpine mono class D amp, very good for money.
