Fancy taking the missus away for new year, not particularly fussed about where as long as it's in the north west somewhere. Anyone got any ideas or been anywhere for new year in the past?

Funnily enough chester's one of the places i've been looking at, might just get a holiday inn or something. Fancied the lake district but it's WELL expensive!

In Chester I have stayed in...Crowne Plaza Chester, The Grosvenor Hotel and Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel‎.

First two are really nice but fairly expensive, last one was actually nice considering its a fair bit cheaper than the first two. Is in a great location too.

Last time I went to Chester we stayed in the Queens Hotel. Was pretty nice, but we got a free room upgrade so I don't know what the room we were meant to have was like.

I'd stay there again, I like Chester, nice place.

I hope you get the same room as we had, hopefully there will be some spunk left in the jacuzzi bath.
