wats the best stuff to use to lose the orange peel effect on side trims and the top part of bumpers?? cheers

Try some rubbing compound mate You can pick it up from your local halfords

Edit is the surface painted or the grey plastic?

I think wet sanding is the only answer to really get rid of orange peel.

if so the only way is lots of sanding then some filler primer over the top and then more sanding. takes a while to do but its worth it.

If you talking about the ripple effect on bumpers and archs then get some high build primer which with a good few layers will cover. make sure to pastic primer first.
