It seems my shitheap doesn't like cold weather... As I cannot for the life of me unlock the fuel filler cap for my XSi... Has anyone had one before and had this problem? Any way at all of solving it? I have NO petrol and need to leave for work in 20 minutes

yeh i had same problem on my old mk4 xr3i, kept forcing with the key and then it snapped.........







i had to get the No 86 bus so im no use either

i snapped my van key trying to open a flat window in fulham and got stranded with no phone, no wallet.........
fill the barrel up with water dispersant imo

I had this happen to me mate with my xsi . Lol the only way to do it is to keep wiggleing the key and give it some time. Ive been known to stand at pumps for 10 minutes

Spray some wd40 inside and on the key.. Keep trying it and it will go, just dont snap the key..

as said spray plenty of WD40 on the key and inside the lock, be careful though because if the key snaps in it then its game over mate.

i had this on the mighty laguna the other day, although it has a central locking pin flap, but the central locking pin didnt want to play ball that night, solved that problem by just ripping the flap off, just got to get a locking cap now though!

If anyone sprays WD40 into their barrel they should re-lube it afterwards with graphite lube, other wise the barrel will f**k up.

weeeeeell on my bmw the windows go down a bit when the car is unlocked. I couldn't even get in the bloody car because the windows were iced up ....so basically i'm fucked unless i have a large supply of warm water everywhere i go.
