Im off for our works xmas do in a couple of weeks. Its a lads night out (20+) in the local town.
Im pretty bored of most the clothes I have at the moment and need some inspiration on what to wear.
I have an unfortunate size 38waist and thus dont look good in waist coats etc. I have a typical bear belly and not wide hips.
Ive looked on ASOS and there wasnt a great deal which took my fancy.

Anyone have any sensible suggestiosn which isnt going to cost an arm and a leg?

Id buy some smart jeans, spending a bit extra on jeans means you can cut back else where i always think. then get youself to h and m or rimark, plain white/grey t shirt and cheap topman black cardigan over the top, sorted.

How tall are you? A 38" waist isn't that big.

I'm a 36" waist, and i'm 6ft 2.

You should look fine with a nice pair of jeans and smart shirt, or jumper like this http://www.newlook.co.uk/1590553/159055301/ProductDetails.aspx

You don't have moobs do you?

Without being cheeky

I find jeans dont work on the larger person

A pair of dark trousers, With a shirt and smart jacket will do the trick

I always think really large people suit combat trousers, because theres loads of pockets to cram in all the food, drinks, lean mean grilling machines etc

Try some dark jeans mate, maybe dark navy blue, like almost black..a shirt with vertical stripes will help make your upper body appear slimmer, and possibly a long smart coat in black could be an appropriate choice of jerkin..
