Possibly a pride issue.
Whatever it was his abrasive manner was the thing that stuck in a lot of people's throats. He could have handled the situation far easier by simply communicating with his customers.

Second one was via you when he told you to delete the thread in order to get the refund processed quicker.
Third was was actually calling the Police and claiming that three direct debits have been set up using his account details. Most worryingly, the Police did initially think the fraud was being coordinated on this web site via u2u without my intervention when in fact Dave overlooked to tell me the username of the person who passed the information on to him so I haven't yet read the messages relating to it. Obviously if when telling me about it if he had have included the details of where to look for such conversation I would have acted more swiftly than if he said 'we were informed of this confidentially by one of the forum users who had recieved a U2U containing info that confirmed that people were planning this.'
Confidential my ass. Quite how I'm suppose to act if he's pulling the confidential card I'm not clear.
Fourthly and in the mean time, he's been on to both our hosting company and our domain registrar to attempt to pull some strings and usurp my authority. Ideally they will tell him to sling his hook but I'm yet to see the outcome of that one.
Without certain proof that's nigh on wasting police time is it not?
Difficult to post advice on here as any advice would work both ways tbh

Potentially although you would probably need malice as opposed to simple incompetence.
Her closing words were 'I can't believe 25000 people drive Corsa's, thanks for the call.' So it ended OK.

seriously though.
A huge thanks to the admin team on CS should be thought. They had a big enough set of balls to allow these threads to remain open to let us make our judgements of v-sport, during legal threats and other things i'm sure concerned them.
Which helps keep CS what it is.

I'm going to get slated for this, but I feel sorry for Dave. Do not try and convince me what hes done is wrong as I know its wrong.
So did I up to a point.
Dave then stole that point and refused to give it back.

It isn't that simple to just restart though is it cosmo? especially when you are not incorporated, if he was a sole trader business and encountered debts leading to him needing to close up shop, he would be personally liable for the debt, using his property etc
The more likely explaination is that he has realised how much bad publicity vsport has got, and has decided to change the name in a bid to create a new image
Also if he did have alot of debt which required paying back, the chances this "new owner" mike could afford to get loans for all the premisis and equipment is very slim in this climate, unless is he a wealthy man, in which case, i have no idea how he would want to become involved with someone who has been exposed for at least 4 scams, or misleading advertisements, eg, bmc filters etc

Its tough without knowing the facts. He may well of been set up as a ltd company and only trading as V Sport (he'd be fucking mental if he didnt). Saying that, even being a Ltd company he was a new start up so I wouldnt mind betting the banks would want personal guarantees off him anyway - they did off us for everything!
Your second point is no doubt near the truth (with or without the first point). Its never that easy though so hope he finds that out soon enough.
