mate has a rover 220 turbo and apparently the standard ecu cannot be remapped. however apparently with mods such as induction kits etc the standard map will adjust to these accordingly over a few hundred miles? is this correct or does this sound right?

He's talking about the adjustment values that most modern ecu's have that adapt slightly to the way you drive.

They won't map the car differently no.

He also won't get more power if he resets the ecu then rags it about for a couple of hundred miles.

incorrect....

It uses it fixed map and works with changed readings from AFM for example(more airflow potentially)

its like an older car R reg i think, just had never heard of that sort of technology
