I'm ill

It all started Wed night, visited my cousin who has 3 cats. On way home my eyes were all puffed up and watering, but Thurs morning my right eye was completelly closed and really badly swollen - thought I must be allergic to the cats

High temp during the night on Thursday/Friday. Shivering feeling cold, in a sweat but roasting to touch. Had a pain at my right hand side Got sent home from work at 2.00pm on Friday. Started vomiting about 10.00pm Friday night, sick a few times during the night. Wasn't sick most of yest but felt really weak. Been up all night last night again with same symptoms and vomiting again. Still got the pain in my side and no energy at all

Am I about to die?

No, they are seperate symptoms from the flu, its clear that you are currently going through morning sickness, flu and that you have had a very mild stroke

Could be 2 quite unrelated things,

First thing, a cat allergy sounds quite likely as I'm sure you've already resigned to -best thing for these symptoms are anti hay fever/allergy tablets from supermarkets.

Sickness/Vomiting sounds pretty miserable, could be all manner of things, but given the time of year, high up on the list would be a viral illness -has anyone you have been in contact with had similar symptoms?

The R sided pain is the only thing that gives me some concern. Its impossible to really pinpoint without examining you but could be related to a viral sort of picture. If that and the tiredness is what remains that does sound very much like post-viral recovery sort of symptoms.

Are things overall improving, or not/getting worse since the onset on the thurs night?

If not improving at all I would probably make a point to go to Docs tomorrow for a full examination and potentially a couple of blood tests, if things are, slowly, perhaps a couple of days off work until you feel up to it would not only be appropriate in your health but that of the health of those you work with.

Winter viruses spread like wildfire!

Thanks Fraser

I did feel a bit better yesterday and thought I was on the road to recovery. Then during the night the symptoms started again and went on most of the night. I'm feeling a bit better right now. I did look up google and read about the 'Winter Vomiting' bug but it says it highly contageous and no one else that I've been in contact with have the symptoms......................................... yet

Thanks again for your help, I'm going to take a nice hot bath to see if that'll heat me up a bit

Nothing like consulting an internet car forum before actually going to the doctor.
