Is there any difference say like from Ripspeed filter to a k&n, pipercross etc? Also any difference between cone and mushroom type? Cheers

Being serious, the only kit you really want is an enclosed one of some kind. An £8.99 Max Power piece of crap is going to do more harm than good and probs actually lose you power.

i wouldn't even bother drilling it, as you can still ge heat soak from it..

decent cold air feed to it, is all you need

bigger air box and panel filter ftw will work so much better than a cheapy induction kit
