Just after your opinions as to what to do.

My bonnet is currently rotting away on the front lip and whenever it rains and gets wet the rust runs onto the front bumper.

Now I've ordered myself a new one but in fibreglass instead.

I will be painting it myself with rattle cans.
Now do I just spray it satin black and be done with it or go the full hog and spray it smoke grey and lacquer etc etc.

Bearing in mind it is primaraly a track car and I'm not bothered what it looks like really.

For this car,

Satin Black. If you try and spray the whole bonnet to match with rattle cans from Halfords, well you've just lost that battle. If you go a complete different colour then it'll look ok.

It had cut outs on the original bonnet to aid airflow, trouble is I think it let in a lot of water

Satin black with nurburgring decals (strip of chequers) up one side would look good
