R5 is likely to explode before the end of the 1/4 mile.
Gearbox likely to go on Saxo before the end.
I think the pair of them should be betting on making it to the end of the 1/4 mile rather than who will get their faster.
All in jest of course.

Hmm close but I'd go with the VTS. Those extra valves would pip it top end

ojc your so wrong with the r5's anyway...the r5 is standard...made it all the way to the ring and back again without a problem...along with 10 others that were modded...the saxo tbh i cant speak for as its done 600 miles or less with battery light...cv inner and anti roll bar going ...16v's is a boost but the 8v has a turbo and weighs less??? interesting though dont u think?

Standard v Standard probably the VTS. Get that GTT breathing a bit easier and it would be a different story IMO.

I've owned standard clean examples of both and can confirm it's the VTS. R5GTT's are definately more exciting with the turbo tho, but the saxo is easier to live with day to day. Things like the manual choke and the gash interior really peck head with the R5. Seats are comfy as hell tho.

r5 will have more torque due to the turbo, so i imagine the r5 will win
