I still need to replace one on a C do they come off easy and how do they secure back on?. The spare knob just has the hole underneath and it seems there is no thread etc..

they just pull off and push on dead easy!!

I found though that once they are off and on again they become loose, I once had one come off in my hand mid gear change, small swerve later and it was all back under control again
