i've got one!! love it!! fast, handles brilliantly, enough toys without being a spaceship, yet mechanical enough to still be a "real driving experience"

i've a Mk1 in Blue - photos here although that is my old one (written off in accident) i havent got round to getting photos of my new one up but its exactly the same!

Nice too look at. Im contemplation one - but thigs that put me off.

The headgasket issue....suppose to not happen on the later ones but it does.....but if right coolant used etc im sure it will be ok. the gash dash board. They were still making 2004 cars with wind up windows ....and also the stupid insurance.

ie the 1.4 was more to inurance than a 1.8 astra sxi which is quicker for me anyways. The diesel was about £150 less than a 306 gti-6 (yes a claimed 170bhp)

AND ITS A ROVER IN DRAG...

BUT, dispite this, i still have a soft spot for one and i still look out for one
