my brakes are quite spongy and generally not as good as they should be! do these pads look worn out?

i've just ordered some dot 5.1 fluid, £8 for a litre of toyota stuff off ebay

but as the car has just turned 30,000 miles, i thought the pads were maybe shot? they have around 5mm left on them.

Might need bleeding up if anythings ever been changed. Cant really tell from that pic, they have a line down the middle that will be when to change them. Best bet is whip them off and take a peek. Clean the calipers whilst your at it

i've already ordered a litre of it from the bay, £8 delivered.

reason i ask about the pads is i have no idea how thick they would've been originally. i think its just the fluid needing done. i'm backshift all week so no chance to get them off to look, and i'm going to knockhill saturday, so its all hands on deck friday night to get anything changed, so really need to order up tomorrow if i need pads.

nope.

i'm just going on a comparison from the 350z brembo's which take the same pad, the dc5 feels dead spongy so i reckon the fluid is just shot?
