Things is, I know copper and stuff have good value but surely a hulk of shitty mild steel sheet and box section hasnt go that much value.

I laughed my ass off when I was told lol - we've had loads of stuff nicked, we had one bloke turn up to 'collect' about £30,000 of stainless - it turns out that after our guys helped him load it onto his dropside and he had fucked off, that he was just some random cheeky pikie who had big balls

Happened at my work in the exact same way mate. We make pumps for large industrial uses and someone came in, said they were picking up a 1 tonne brass impeller that was sitting around and got off with it, no questions asked. One of the employees even loaded it up

I know a couple of people who *allegedly* walked into a bathroom warehouse and walked out with a boxed bathroom set - just walked over to it, picked it up and walked out, even had the staff hold the doors open for them on the way out....

ASDA's one that I think it'd be dead easy to steal from - just get some of that tape they have with 'ASDA' written on it for stuff that doesn't fit in bags. Slap some of it on a BBQ, and waltz out the door with it.

You wish! i have done alot of work with CCTV in our local ASDA. they get a shoplifter every day, normally more, all don to their CCTV. Their system uses two cameras and covers 10x more of the store than having dozens of cameras. They also ban and eject loads every day, and recognise more crooks and thieves than i can!!!
