Went to the local scrapyard hoeping to get a 15inch steel but no luck

then i come across this sitting in the cornet behind a few cars piled ontop of each other

as ive never looked at a carlton, the interior was all in good condition with steering wheel and clocks etc all there, opened the bonnet to find this

the engine bay was very clean and looked in good condition, got talking to the bloke who owns the scrap yard as he seen me looking around it and apparently he had it under covers for about 4 months until someone made him an offer for the whole car but they never picked it up, so it just got left in the corner, out of curiosity i asked him how much for the whole car including engine and was £250 delivered might go back tomorow if someone lends me £50

Why is it in there? May be an MOT failure hence being scrapped if there's no obvious damage.

I'm quite sure you would find a complete one for similar money. They're not expensive.

I saw one of those in a scrapper once too. The engine is a bit interesting. But aren't those 6 pots the ones that like to bend their crank for no apparent reason sometimes? or am I thiking of something else?
