History.
Where does the wee come from?
Scottish guy at work on the phone “ok I’ll give you a call back in a wee minute”
Where did the weeeeeeee come from? Where did it come from. Did the Scots invent the first play slides? Surley something must have happened to become part of the language.
Anyone know? Genuinly interested if theres a real reason.

I say wee all the time.
"extremely small," c.1450, from earlier noun use in sense of "quantity, amount" (cf. a littel wei "a little thing or amount," c.1300), from O.E. wæge "weight" (see weigh). Adj. use wee bit apparently developed as parallel to such forms as a bit thing "a little thing." Wee hours is attested by 1891, from Scot. wee sma' hours (1787, Burns). Wee folk "faeries" is recorded from 1819. Weeny "tiny, small" is from 1790.

From Middle English we (“‘little bit’”) < Old English wæ:ge (“‘weight’”), related to Old English wegan (“‘to move, weigh’”) (15c).

YEah, but the guys a scot through and through, so that translates as
I'll give you a call back in a small minute?
Or is it just a word thats overally used out of context (like Chav, not every sub 25yo is a chav ).

It doesn't translate, in the loosest use of the word, directly as 'small'
It can be used for time, length, cock size etc etc etc

Hmmm, I would say 'sma' for the word small, but as hammer says doesn't translate...

It's just slang. Every language and dialect has slang.
