I know corsa forum etc.
but the girlfriend went to look at a car today, ford ka 53 plate with 41k on the clock.
just got a phone call telling me there rust in two places:
1. around the petrol cap its starting to bubble, cant understand how this would happen? but would there be any other probelms that this could be a sign from? rust on the inside?
2. was around the bottom of one of the door seal, i have no clue how this would happen, its two inches of rust?

just want peoples views really, the dealer said he would get it sorted out but only if we are going to actually buy the car. i told her to tell him to get the job done then we will go have a look at the job hes done on it. but just wonderin peoples view on this, personally im pretty put off and will be advising against it.

so any help advice etc would be good?

They all rust in these places. If the dealer gets it sorted then I can't see a problem.

If the car is still under 5 years old then the Ford paint warrenty will cover the costs.

At the end of the day, it's a Ford and they tend to rust. Remember the KA is a 10 year old design, and the one she is looking at is 5 years old. 53 plate sounds new, but isn't that new.

Personally, I think KA's are great little cars. As long as there is no signs of other damage which could cause the rust, and he is going to get it sorted, then go for it.

I'd personally go for a fiesta instead. Ideally with the 1.25 zetec engine.

My mrs 1.3 flight is a great little car.

Do these corrosion problems happen ont he SportKA? My mrs wants one of these next!

1.3 Endura engines seem to go forever as well, although they sound terrible once done a few thousand miles. Missus' dad got a KA hire car at the moment and it's silent, only 07 plate.

The mrs got her 1.3 X reg fiesta flight, 1 owner with ford fsh and only 21k on the clock for £1400!!

Everything on it it Ford, even the winscreen wiper blades!!

Think she will sell it next year should have 24k on clock by then for £2500 and put it toward a SportKa

they've fixed their rust problems now, so don't tarnish all their cars with the same brush
