 im on AAT at technician level and because im doing it through work, they have to send someone out to fill in some paper work and they want me to waste my time doing a numeracy and literacy test which after a quick flick through looks like its for 10 year olds , but seriously what is the need? i havent had to do anything like this for the previous 2 years or even to get in to college when i was doing A-levels. Why make me do one now? have i all of a sudden become a retard?  .

I did this last year. Its on the PC and is really easy. The was a rumor going around that if you get a crap score you get a free laptop. No-one had the guts to try it tho

If it's key skills, been there past it all, what a waste of my time. Did and i'm becoming a Vehicle Sprayer, I can understand the numeracy, but why the literacy. I know my English is bad, but I don't need to use in my job, and also why ICT, as we had to do that too.

As already said it sounds like key skills mate If you've got half a brain cell you'll breeze it Just to see if you need any extra help whilst doing your course. I've just had to do them at college again even though I already have key skills in maths and english

its just the fact they give it me now in the last level of the course and not the 2 levels before it .

matt, i had to do the numeracy and literacy tests as part of my interview to get the job at ford.
you would not believe how man people had trouble with it. it was so easy for me but a lot of the asians had loads of trouble with it!
they use it because it's a very good and easy way of seeing whether you have enough intelligence to understand and figure out simple things.

I had to do an English language module in my first year at uni. It was retarded. I got an A for English language and English lit at school, plus I was taught the module at uni by a Swedish woman.
