changed my diet a little bit. i cant cut things like booze and crisps cos i love them too much. but i have cut the size of my meals.
seem to have a lot of soup at lunchtimes..

other than that its all hard work down the gym 4 nights a week.

10k rowing
22k cycling

then situps and light weights.

once i am down to my goal weight (i give it another 2 months) then i will start back on heavy weights sessions to put some much needed muscle back on my frame

So youve done it mainly with cardio rather than weights steve? Are you getting "skinny fat" or looking alright?

well done for losing over a stone by just cutting down and exercising!

Matt - Cambridge diet...basically you have 3 shakes/soups a day and water. No food, cups of tea, nothing else. They say that 3 shakes contains 100% of your recommended intake of vitamins and minerals per day. Only thing they starve your body of is carbs.
Your body uses carbs for energy, however if you don't have any carbs then your body turns to the fat stores for energy, so basically your body uses up your fat.

Definitely works though, gone from wearing XXL size clothes and a 38" waist to wearing size small tops and 34 or 32" trousers!

How many kcals are in these shakes? I would imagine being a big bloke you would need a lot more than 3 shakes a day for good health. Dropping the kcals too rapidly and losing weight too fast can be very bad on your health too mate.

You were actually able to function on 400 calories per day? Surprised your metabolism didn't stop dead. Especially not having any soilds to digest.

I wouldn't be able to do a thing on that diet. That's urging on starvation which is pointless as once your body starts ingesting more calories again it won't be able to use them as efficiently.

The best way to lose weight is 3/400 calories below maintainance (which in your case at 15 stone would probably have been around 2800), plenty of cardio and be patient.

the cambridge diet does work i know so many people who have done that. They all said that they got a bit ill with it where after they were weined (sp) off of the shakes and onto small foods they were constantly feeling sick

Cambridge diet is so bad for you its insane, 400 calories a day.... a 2 yr old child doesn't even survive on that.

If you done it for 1 month its probably not to bad, but 5 months you've probably destroyed your metabolism, immune system and you've definitely lost alot of muscle (depending on how big you were before). Now your eating again you'll pile it all back on, i guarantee it.

Your feeling sick because your body hasn't had "proper" food for so long, your metabolism and digestive system is probably in shock right now and once its over it i'm afraid to say you'll put weight back on. Which is good as 1) 11 stone is underweight (depending on height) 2) you need to get your body funcitoning properly!

been off the diet for 8 weeks now and feel great.........weight is staying off. I'm back to eating 3 sensible meals a day.

I'm only 5 foot 5 so 11 stone is good for my height.....
