I'm guessing that on my Corsa i have an F15CR gearbox (R reg 98).
So what is the difference? Is it the ratios? Or is it just the housing?

Torque rating majorly.
I think the ratios are different as well on account of them being fitted to different engines.

Torque rating...? By that do you mean how much the box can take?

Yeah that is what the F number is for.
13 = 130ft/lb
15 = 150ft/lb
F20 = 200
etc.

Stephen, check your Haynes manual
Apparently, the ratios changed over the years anyway, even with the same box. I think IIRC the final drives changed as well.
Got all this info from my Haynes by the way, but from looking at it 2 weeks ago when I had a dodgy driveshaft.

There in NM, not lb/ft iirc.
And ignore those tbh, bit of a myth.
Going by that a f10 should take 100, and a f13 take 130, BUT both boxes have exactly the same internals
So its a load of crap tbh
Edit-Sorry, only just seen kurts post.
