Its so hard to pick a dissertation topic, i mean this will be the thing i'll be doing for months...
I want to cover a topic within Quantity Surveying but cant formulate a question or area that will give me alot of scope to research and develop.
Did you pick a subject that was of an interest or one that you knew would give you the information and scope you need??
Its a toughy...

i picked a subject that i had interest in although it's slowly becoming apparent that it'll involve a rediculous amount of maths and might be pretty hard to pull off 
But to be honest, pick something that you have interest it, last thing you want is writing a load of guff about that something you really couldn't give two monkeys about.

Good point, its a fine ballance between a subject that will give limited scope and one that will spiral out of control...
I would like to cover quantity surveying but cannot come up with an area to go with.

Is it not possible to choose a couple of areas, allowing you to broaden your dissertation? Eitherway, i would go talk to your lecturers they'll be more useful that CS

As was how terrorism had made changes to the industry.
