If i were to get illegal tints (70% or light smoke) on my car? The police have clamped down over the last two nights and they seem keen to kick tyres
Also my interior lights are blue, am i asking for trouble?

Might as well stick to doing it legally... They do a test for light on the MOT i think?

Well, there is no way of having legal tints on the front. I had tints on my corsa and it was never an issue on my corsa Is it as severe as 6points or would i just have to take them off and get severely arse reamed as said??

you can have legal tints on the front as long as the window lets about 70% light through, somewhere around 70% anyway, your rear side windows can be totally blacked out as far as i know and your rear window is the same as the sides as far as i am aware, dont take my word for it though, get in touch with a proper tinting company and see what they say

Just think of a Corsa van. No rear windows. You can go as dark as you want on them. The fronts however, can be a touchy area. If you do get pulled. Wind down your fronts. That's what i did in my Astra. No problems so far.

Seen it in a few times on these Police programs on TV.
Some make you peel them off there and then, or make you tear a strip off at least so it'll look crap and make you want them off.
Some offer a vehicle defect notice and you have to get them checked presumably by an MOT place.
I don't really see it being worth the risk

The windscreen, and two front windows should allow 70% of light through, no less. Most cars come with a 10% tint anyway, but remember glass is not completely transparant and has a certain % of blocked light anyway.
Everything behind the B pillar can have a 100% tint if you wanted.

You can get points now, 3 points for each illigal window But as said rears can be as dark as you like but fronts must let in 70% light

iv a feeling you arent allowed to stick any film on the front windscreen regardless of how much light it lets through

front windows are factory tinted at 70% , which is the legal limit, so you can't touch them at all
Someone told me the other day that BMW are making factory fitted front windows as standard which are below the light rating as they've added more shatterproof protection etc which has taken it beyond the legal limit, and are currently taking action to reduce the legality of it
Don't know if it's true

my brother got caught in a vosa road side check with his last veccy, they made him rip the fronts off on the spot while the vosa bloke said 'it's a shame cos they really suited the car'!! i actually thought he was gona smack him was a bit awkward after lol.
he had a producer as well i think but yeah apparently you can get points now too, all down to how you react im guessing, put up a fuss and they'll go to town on you.
interior light doesnt matter mate as long as you dont drive with it on

window tints have nothing to do with mot tests, test stations do not have light meters, corsa front windows have a tint on them all ready so you cant tint them any more. vosa on the otherhand do have light meter and if you get stopped off the they may put a prohibition noitice on your car and take it away. i know this because im a mot tester and had it done.
