I always did like the old rat look, my friends dad has a rat look old vw camper, its awesome. Its old though, and its just gone like that, if it looks like it could have been abandoned then it seems to work. Not really so much on these. Fair play though on the cover. Doesnt bother me haha.

I like it and think it's cool, unusual and refreshing. It amazes me how much it seems to annoy some people. I'd much rather have a rat, manufactured or otherwise than something done in ghastly taste with garish colours and fibreglass etc.
Worn, weathered stuff has always appealed to me so that's probably why I find the cars interesting rather than unpleasant.

Can't believe that Asrat is making the mags  All for a project just for a laugh!
Is it just that image or are the bonnets really orange on the mag? Haven't seen it in the shops yet - just looks like the rust has been p/s'd really orange?!

It will have been p/s'd, most magazines p/s the cover photo to make it brighter so that it stands out more on the shelves.

not pointless to me, totally restored the fun aspect of modifiying cars - exactly what I wanted from the car!
It also proves you dont have to spend a fortune to get a car featured

The thing you're missing JR is that he isn't singling out a car or saying a particular car is this or that. He's saying the rat look is pointless and shit. He's having an opinion about the style in general.

I dont think the rat look is pointless or shit, really like some of the Vee dubs although i think buying a ok car, then making it 'rat' is missing the point

Personally I hope when I return from my holidays in a fortnight time there will be some new trend on the go like possibly throwing random paint tins over your car to create a unique paintjob & folk will call it the Prat look.
Bash my arse Biff will be on the front of Max Poor saying how great his Nova is with such a unique look & how it snaps necks on da street!

People bang on about VW and Rat look being cool, but are you that naive to think that every VW car that is Rat look is original?? Oh and just in case you are not aware Rat look is a hot rod thing originally
