Good luck with that
Possibly the hardest industry to get into. Not what you know, but who you know imo.

mandy.com is a good place to get jobs - if you're trying to get into it then start at the bottom as a runner or something.

Yeah fair enough. Just a perfect example...
My mate Kealan, brilliant at all media style work, got great grades A-Level and got a 1st in a media based degree. His dad works at Pinewood studios (which produces films / tv etc) ...
Kealan hasn't been able to get a 'media' job and has been trying for over 2 years!
Case study B )
His mate Ben, also did media related education, but was fairly 'average'... got average grades throughout, never went to uni only college.
His dad is like a high flyer at a media company in london...
Ben got 'offered' a prime media based job in central london within weeks of finishing his college course with a fairly crap mark

Why would they want a female in it then? With those two involved it would be an all male cast.

My lecturer told me about one of his good mates, how he wasn't pretty much damn right shite at engineering and sound design. Yet he pegged it to New Zealand, blagged his way into the film industry and is now regarded as one of the best sound designers out there, working on all 3 Lord of The Rings films. My lecturer still says he wouldn't employ him, even now, as he's just a blagger/bs'er.

I'd prefer to work in a industry where, the best prosper and get promotions and not where the dossers / blaggers / shit people get the lucky breaks.
