need more details mate. is it going to be a new or used car? its a new car there could be deals such as 0% or no deposit. If its used you probably wont get that. Depends alot on your credit rating aswell

I got on finance a Vauxhall Astra 07 did not need a deposit for mine as it depends on as richc says deal and period and mine was pre registered also end of the 07 plates. Monthly payable was £270 and as far as my contract says I think I could settle early without penalty - hope this answers some of your questions in brief.

But I would get a loan personally next time.

edit: - the astra price was 10995 just to clarify

Yes it depends on the situation, you can't just say a banks cheaper.

The finance was cheaper than the bank when I had it.

This is not really an ideal time to be doing finance, or a loan tbh. In the current climate, you are going to be stung either way (credit crunch has generally increased APR a lot!). I'd say 9/10, a loan would work out better. But in this time, finance may be a better option. If you could hold out for a bit by buying a wee heap to get about in, you may save lots in the long run.
