how much do you think i'm looking at for a custom cat-back stainless exhaust for my x16xe? would need to add some performance otherwise wouldn't really be worth it.
what's the best bore size? would a straight thru centre pipe / decat do much for performance? any good?
any ideas on prices for something proper?
cheers
nb: i'd probably be getting a janspeed 4-2-1 aswell.

I charge £280 for a complete custom cat back system by mail order.
some companies charge more, some less. have a ring around.

usually a few bhp but nothing drastic. best gain I saw from a cat back on a standard 1.6 was on an astra which made 8 bhp.

sounds slightly retarded, but does the tail pipe design influence performance at all?
i've been thinking about a subtle letterbox style (say 5x3 or something)

not massively, tailpipe design does affect sound. the bigger and longer it is the deeper the note. peashooter size will give a higher note and sometimes raspy.

sorry but just wanted to ask..
im getting a remus centre section soon so i can get rid of the big centre silcencer, and il be getting rid of my 6x4 backbox for a standard one so that i have alot of ground clearance..
what sort of sound would it be like if i did this? remus centre and standard backbox?
if i went for a aftermarket backbox i think it would be to loud for my likeing..

surely the remus centre section wouldn't fit to the standard backbox without a fight anyway?
wouldn't think it would perform well but might sound alright!?
