unlocking mobile phones? Is it a plug into computer only job? Or can you just get your hands on the unlock code?

Or if you want to do it yourself, its just a USB cable and some software iirc. Not sure how hard it is to get hold off.

I keep reading that you can just get the code. Some say service providers will give it to you if you ask. I'll give this ago

depends what phone as some old nokias you could do it with the code. others you flash with non branded firmware.

search the net for the unlock code, nokias are easy to do

there will also be a code to get to the unlock menu

If you try with the network provider though, they can give you a code and you wont lose the wap or mms capabilities which you "may" lose with a normal unlock code
