i know this is asked all the time but does anyone know of any good insurance companys for engine conversions (19 years old 2 years no claims 1.2 8v current engine but i want to do the 1.6 sport conversion) i have tryed the following
Brentacre wanted £1,030 tpft 120 bhp limit
Flux found a company £1,676 tpft
Endsleigh couldnt do it
Performance Direct wanted £1,300 tpft

the cheapest quote ive had with my 1.2 is
norwich union £771 f/comp but then i fount there simple cover and it said £612 fully comp but they wont cover me with an engine conversion.

anyone got any other companys that would be good to try

Is it not possible to just buy a 1.6 sport? This then negates the need for a special policy for an engine conversion but still gives you the power you want all done (probly cheaper nowadays as well)?

That too, its a whole lot less hassle, cos from what I have read on here (not done it myself) theres always something to go wrong with an engine transplant
