what should i do?
dont reely want to spend over £200.
do i get a cheap shock/spring kit.
or get some decent springs and keep standard dampers.
looking to lower about 50mm.

I've had a G-max kit on two of my cars now and cannot fault them tbh.

keep standard dampers and get some springs, ride isnt to bad either 
iv got avo on me car, but they only go 40mm thou

Some lowering springs on their own will only set you back about £70. If you are on a tight budget you can get away with a 40mm drop with no probs on them. The ride might leave little to desire for though

yeh jamex are only £100 or so arnt they.
id happily buy them if they got some recomendations.
im just worried they if i buy cheap i might have to buy again.
on the other hand cannt justify paying £300 for a decent kit on a shit corsa.

Go second hand, trust me. You'll get a decent kit for £200, spax, Bilstens, apex etc etc

I would go second hand on that budget as above.
I have got just 40mm gmax springs and the ride isn't too bad.

I'd recommend them mate. Alot of people have commented how good the ride is compared to others. I've had no problems what so ever with mine

To be honest, you'd be better off not bothering at all, if you keep standard dampers, they'll end up needing to be replaced because they arent designed to be ran with lowering springs alone, it'll then cost you to replace them so you may as well spend the money, its a false economy.
If your gonna do the job, do it properly.
