No, I'm not saying they deserve it. I'm just saying it doesn't help the situation and a lot could be done to prevent it.

i'm aware of that. what i'm trying to say is why hasn't it been done earlier? if the holiday reps know then the tour operators know. the home office should have been made aware sooner. they put out warnings for people going to other dodgy countries so it should have been sorted sooner imo.

I'm appalled.
Victims are not to blame.
Men should remember, in whatever circumstance, that they have the power to stop whatever is going on. Be that dragging a girl off to a dark spot on the beach or not being 100% that you have consent in an otherwise willing situation.
I think men get a bad press, particularly over the consent issue, but the solution is take control and keep it in your pants. You can't possibly pretend for one minute that the actions or presentation of the girl in any way alters the male ability to actually not get in that predicament.

Its not just abroad or guys btw!!
I like to wear short skirts/shorts on sunny days here at home. Going up town shopping on a Saturday afternoon can turn into a riot I've been made feel like a cheap slag by looks/comments from mainly fat middle aged females who stare at me as if I've grown horns, all because I'm wearing a short skirt!!! Walking through M&S is hilarious, the looks of horror on the old dears faces are priceless

Lets get 1 thing straight I don't doubt that the men are in the wrong and that it's a horrible thing to happen to anyone, and just shouldn't happen full stop.
And lets face it, not every girl out there drunk, wearing provocative clothes gets raped. All I'm saying is some girls don't help the situation by what they drink, how they act and how they're dressed.

I dont think rapists go on what they are wearing, id only presume (not being a rapist myself) that they would more than likely target the smallest, most drunk or a girl on here own. Id say it would be alot more based on circumstance than anything. I.e girl goes out of bar to use phone on her own, drunk goes down alley to get away from noise....gets bummed.
