i was working in Fulham not too long ago and broke my van key.
wallet was in the van, both my phones had flat batteries. had to get back to wycombe....
the site was right outside Parsons Green station, so i explained the story to the duty manager who let me get on and go as far as Marylebone which was the last tube station before going overland. She filled out a failure to pay (iirc) form and phoned Marylebone to tell them to expect me.
that was very nice of her. Overland operators wern't so understanding. I had to get someone to go to Wycombe stations and pay for a ticket from there which they printed where i was. Cost an extra £10 for the privelage on top of whatever the fare was.

They dont do the advanced tickets anymore. A return from London to Liverpool on 4th September (Friday after work) to 7th September (Sunday) for the weekend is coming out at £62.60 which isnt that bad actually.

What the hell is your fuel economy like?
Not only are trains expensive, they're never normally on time, cramped, uncomfortable and stink of piss.

Dartford to Leicester is 127 miles one way. I can't see it being £90 in fuel
