At the last minute, a group of us grabbed tickets to the qualifying yesterday, and although we had to be up bright and early, and the tube generally sucked getting to 'West Silvertown' - What a corker of a day!!
Was the first time going and had only seen it briefly on C4 but it's absolutely crazy! The TV coverage doesn't do this justice at all! The pilots are pushing the planes to the maximum, flying around 50ft from the deck and launching into the gates at 230mph!

looks good, same as jambo but was there friday and they were only having a mess around but still looked cool, seemed like they had to shut city airport while they done that though which im sure upset a few yuppies wanting to go out in there private jets!

Looks ace. I heard some of them pull 11 Gs into turns 
Don't most people pass out at about 8 Gs

A friend who lives in Docklands works in one of the Canary Wharf towers, quite high up. Almost had the opportunity to go and watch it from up there, but it didn't materialise.

Yeah was an awesome day, although i wished we had tickets to both days instead of just the Quali's on the Sat.
Would recommend this to everyone to atleast see it once as the TV coverage is utter crap. Plus the place is packed full of fitties, including the staff which all seem to be FAF students
Superlite - We were laughing when we read that there's a 250mph and 12G limit when pilots enter each gate, thinking that it would be impossible for them to reach that. Then we saw the G meter on the big screens where they were pulling 10-11G's turning out of the Quad and Half-Cuban!
And only one of them uses a military G-suit, the rest are in just normal aviation overalls
