theres sense in what he says, i would however say its not an absoloute.
I was introduced to alcohol at a young age. That doesnt mean they got me pissed but if my dad had a beer watching the grand prix, id have a tiny glass with him sometimes.
Im no binge drinker

he's probably looking at how foreign countries stand on the matter (kids having wine with meals). the thing is thats the norm in lots of countries and has been since wine was first made.
you can't just expect us to adopt these traditions and everything to be ok. it will never work.

the problem is culture based, England has a massive problem with it. It wont harm things trying that approach to try and adapt social problems.
A girl i know who was religeous from an extremely strict family was never allowed to socialise out of school etc. Then when 18 she went mental and became a slag, and quickly aquired a £50 a day drug habit. Causing her health problems and alot of more worrying phsycological ones.
Freedom/rebellion quickly ruined her. Alot of people do the same, its quite common!
Demonising things will only make the current situation worse tbh

I agree in theory it is worth investigating BUT as said, its a cultural thing... in Spanish culture you have siestas, in France McDonalds had to sell wine in order to prove popular... doesnt necessarily mean it'll translate to here but I like the thinking behind it, make it less "anti-establishment" and people will be less inclined to break the rules to try it

considering the lifestyle and culture is massively differnt in places like spain to england is the first reason this wouldent work.

Dad used too buy alcahol for me every Friday night as mum worked nights on a Friday. I have the occasional (Once a week) social drink (about 6/7 units).
If I hadn't been given alcahol from 13/14 I would've hit the alcahol hard from the day I turned 18, just like my sister had.

works perfectly well on the continent, small glass of wine, often watered down with main meals. Sips of beer etc from a young age and theres no real problem with teen or binge drinking; or alcohol induced violence etc
