i work at a software support company on the 2nd line.. we have 4 guys on the first line who take all the calls and forward them as needed...
just checked how many calls they have dealt with sinse being here and the dates that they started..
Jason - started Dec 2007 - done 2293 calls
James - started March 2007 - done 4476 calls
Oliver - started March 2007 - done 3460 calls
Rizwan - started September 2007 - done 5391 calls
WTF one of the guys is 1000 calls short compared to the other guy he started work with in the same week.
Then Rizwan comes along 6 months later and does more calls than both of them
Really starting to piss me off.. but im not in a managers roll to pull him aside and have a go. GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR

are you sure rizwan is dealing with the actualy problem? and not just trying to get through as many calls.
tbh to some degree it all depends who you get and what the problem is. admittedly big differences

Who are you angry at? Rizwan for doing his job? Or the others for not being as good?
Racist tbh.

Chill out Steve, there's worse things in life to piss you off than that
If that's all that gets you about your job, I'm sure you're in a better position than 80% of people on here.
As you said yourself, it's the managers responsability to take action if they feel one of them is not pulling their weight.

Rizwan cant speak clear English so 75% of the callers hang up fast, allowing a larger amount of calls taken

When I'm at work I usually endevour to do the least ammount of work possible without people noticing. I did that in my last job and when I left they bought me a case of beer for being the hardest working technician they had ever had. Makes no sense to me because I usually went in and read books all day long

When I worked for RM Customer Services, we needed to process 7.5 claims an hour. I usually did that, or marginally above it. If I really tried, the most I could do was about 12.
We had three indian guys who were doing 15 an hour

I see where Steve is coming from as i work in software and a bit of hardware support. What i don't understand in my place is how the ones who are working there arse off closing calls are getting a lower chargable time than those who seem to just mess around all the time.
