down to the retailer to decide how it wants to hit it sales budgets personally as a consumer i couldnt care less

loss shrinkage leakage in terms of stock loss is also down to the retailer to manage

im confused what point your trying to make?

very true but you cant penalise people that steal no matter what it is if you steal yourself ie music downloads (most popular theft right now)

Society says otherwise.

Parents own and run a petrol station (great for me ) and any theft of fuel is always followed up and majority of the time the people are caught. It is true though that the bigger supermarket chains don't follow up theft anywhere near as thoroughly as the smaller chains. Any one stealing from fuel from a smaller garage or private firm is usually stealing straight out of someones back pocket, like walking into your house and taking your TV or something. Usually explains why they follow out theft alot more than the supermarket chains who it doesn't effect as much. Can't say ive noticed much of an increase in unpaid 'drive offs', but there are definately more people coming in with excuses with where they've left there wallet, or forgotten their card

How do you not understand that?

the loss of a potential sale yes though if i were to physically remove the product then that would be loss of a potential sale and loss off the physical cost of the goods and the cost involved with getting them on sale in the first place.

If you coundnt download an album you liked you would have to buy it, therefore theyve lost a sale because you downloaded it?

I dont care how much people argue on this tbh, stealing is stealing, it cant be right to steal one thing but wrong to steal another.

Someone tried to nick my petrol a couple of months ago out of my Audi TT. I came out in the morning and my petrol lid was flipped up and the cap was hanging out. They didn't get any, i'm just grateful that they didn't dammage my car out of spite. Bastards.

Thing is, the public dont really care about people downloading music, as people do it in there own house, in there own time. It doesnt affect most people

Whereas robbing petrol, is the opposite, Its in people face, blatently breaking the law, because you cant afford fucking petrol

And it affects the people who get there plates robbed for it and end up with the police on them!

Its pretty sad to be honest

The majority of people who do it have no tax or insurance either, so put other people at risk!

I don't like paying for petrol either but the prices aren't an excuse for more people 'having' to steal it.

There are loads of things I want that cost more than I can afford but it doesn't mean I go and steal them.

If you are priced out of driving thats unlucky.
