NovagteUK Has been reading too many Max Power mags
I really wish people would research fully what they are talking about before spouting off crap and copying and pasting from Google Search's

I had the joys of going on a RS200 - rallyx one

That one is worth at least 150k ! does 0-60 in 1.8 seconds!!
I had bruises from the harnesses from the amount of G the car was pulling in corners and braking!
But the Group B car for me has to be the Audi !

Well maintained 355 isn't going to depreciate much at all.

There were 3 versions of the RS200.
The road going 250bhp 1.8T version. Wank.
An RallyX version with around 450-650bhp. Slightly slower to 60mph than the Evo version (like .2).
An Evo version, used on Rallying, between 600-800bhp,), but 0-100 was something stupidly fast like 5-6 seconds. This was the quickest accelerating version at just over 2 seconds to 60mph
JR - You know opposite the train station in Longfield where they pulled down the garage and put in houses (next to Dolly Diner), he used to sponser my old mans bike racing fuel, he had a RIGHT hand drive original RS200. It was actually used in the Rallying, the full works Evo model. Paid £250,000 for it back in (counts back.... ) about eerrrrrr 1990. He put it in the showroom and it never moved until he sold it when he chucked the garage in....
Im pretty sure this is the actual car, it did had ?200??? on the plate, i remember that.

Evo turned into the Pikes Peak hillclimb car (was un-successful on the race track after rally bannings).

Ruined it? My head would actually blow up with excitement knowing what cars I could buy for that.
quote:
at Rally Portugal, a Ford RS200 was involved in one of the most dramatic accidents in WRC history, claiming the lives of 3 spectators and injuring many others. The accident at Rally Portugal set off a chain reaction and the RS200 became obsolete after only one full year of competition as the FIA, the governing board which at the time controlled WRC rally racing, abolished Group B after the 1986 season.
After the accident they couldnt even sell the rs200,ford lost thousands because off it.
No, Ford lost millions in development costs due to the knee jerk reaction of the governing body in abolishing the class, as did every other manufacturer running/developing Grp B cars. Safety should have been addressed. Not the class eradicated.
And they could sell the cars. That's why they all sold. Not hard though considering they only had 200 cars to sell and they are among the finest, rarest, most impressive and enigmatic pieces of machinery (motorsport based or otherwise) ever produced.
