With a redtop engine fitted and running for 300 squid, would you lot buy it?

I've known the current owner for years and i do trust him to a point, but surely for 300 i can't go wrong

Oh, also- i've been in the car more than once and it's deffo a runner, he just can't afford to keep it.

Opinions/advise please

Doesn't stop him from ragging it through town

I was gona get it, strip it- get all the bits i want; engine, box, shafts, brakes ect. And sell the bits i don't need- thus making a small profit for the nova i'm gona get. + it's one less uninsured (elegedly) driver off the road

If he has put it back on the road, it would be great

The fact it's a Cat B explains why it's so cheap, but worth it as a donor car.

If it's not currently legal then you'll need transport to get it home. Where abouts is the car in relation to you?

It must be aye. And I'd buy it and strip it, as that shell is NOT safe for the road.

Edit: Oh, and you're right, the engine is a strong 'un. One of the only good things now it seems

It's sat in a garage about half a mile from my house (less as the crow flies). I realise that i would need a trailer seing as it's a cat B, but i don't see why he wouldn't drive it to my house- as i see him regularly blarting it around town on a saturday after noon Joking aside, Eck- do you know what exactly needs to be binned? So i know what to chuck

Do bear in mind that if he gets stopped delivering it you could technically get the 'Causing Or Permitting' clause of whatever endorsements he receives, ie. he gets an IN10 you'll have IN14 which is comparable on fine and points.

Then you need to actually work on the car - do you have an engine hoist?

Then you need to dispose of the shell.

Have an engine hoist and quite a bit of room for the parts.

I was hoping maybe i could get the local scrappy to come and pick the shell up from my house to scrap it

Tbh most things were ok on it when I had it mate! Engine & Box were solid, brakes were pretty new, exhaust system &suspension were ok as well. But obviously it was fucked in the accident. Ask Whittie for the pics, and he'll be able to tell you more about it.
