I'm using an old astra and it STINKS of Grandaddies.

Magic trees dont work, neither do tons of febreeze or aftershaves or leaving it open all night.

Does anyone have any methods of getting rid of a set- in stench!?

Need to shampoo the seats and carpets, and clean the rooflining. Carpets and seats should preferably be done with a wet vax, but hot soapy water and a lot of scrubbing should suffice.

So it doesnt have to be professional - just something that smells nice and lots of scrubbing?

Any fabric cleaner will do mate, tbh i dont see the point in buying auto glym stuff for a job like this. You will probably use it a handfull of times, and its a bloody rip off. Just find something out your mums cleaning stuff.

Or find a decent valeter to do it professionally, i charge £20 for a full interior to give you a idea of prices.

The Autoglym stuff isn't that great at actually cleaning the seats. It also smells of busses.

Febreze sorry. The car will need more than that to get rid of this stench. It smells like a care home 10 days after the black plague struck

Take it to see your local polish valeters. They'll sort it right out.

A bicarbonate of soda solution scrubbed into the seat should help.

A large tablespoon in about a pint of water should do it. It won't stain as the liquid will be clear but you may get a powdery residue when it dries which you can just hoover off.

I always use this for remove the smell from a fridge.
