I know there are few Bike people on here, so I thought I would share the news on my new bike

I have ordered my Intense Slopestyle today:

Large frame in White (the same as above), I am hoping it will arrive in time for my trip to Morzine / Les Gets on the 17th July, going to be very tight indeed but a fantastic way to get to know a new bike

Very excited indeed

build comes in at £3900 so not the cheapest but I have built to last but hopefully be still light as well.

We ride at various places in the west mids, wales and a trip abroad once a year. We go out pretty much every Sunday (unless I have a car show or work), so it will get plenty of use/abuse

You spent near on £4k on an MTB and you are 'hoping' it will be light enough?

Given you say 'the build' I would hope you have individually spec'd the parts? hence my comment above

Sorry, I dont mean to sound ignorant and rude, but what on earth makes that bike worth £4000? I bought my last bike for £450, and I thought I spent to much

Spec:

Intense SS Large (White)

Fox Van 36 RC2
Fox DHX Coil 5.0 (with stronger coil)
Sram X9 Rear mech, triggers and front mech, cassette, chain
e.13 DRS Chain guard
Shimarno Saint Crank
Pedals -Truvativ Holzfeller
Hope Moto V2 Floating and vented disks 203mm front and rear, braided hoses.
Headset – Easton Havoc
Bottom bracket – hope
DT Swiss - DT EX 1750 F Wheelsets (white)
Easton - Havoc Handle bars
Easton – Havoc seat post
Grips – Intense DH Bonus Kit (black)
Seat - SDG Bel Air Titainium
Hope - seat clamp (black)

I think thats about it, yes its a full custom build, yes I spec'd it . Have I sat there and added up all the weights of every component? No I have not because I have a life

Building this sort of bike is not just about having it as light as possible, its about trying to get a good reliable and strong bike that isnt stupidly heavy. I could have made it lighter but it would have cost another £800 of there abouts, I am happy with the components I have chosen and more importantly have confidence they will perform well

I live about 20 mins away so if you're ever down, drop me a call. Was going to organise something in the next week, because mum and dad are away, so I can spend all day down there etc as I normally go with dad.

But it's a long way for a lot of you to travel.
