are they illegal?
and how easy are they to get done cos i have rang 2 garages up from where i live and they wont seem to do them??

Are they illegal - well abit of a grey area to be fair. some say there are, and others differ. however i doubt you would get pulled for them, theres many people out there with it.

As for the garages, its there choice really, ive had no problems with the ones ive gone to, but ive heard otherwise, and ive heard some will make you sign a note saying, in case of an accident, they aint to blame.

easy to do if your not going crazy, i put a 145 60 on my 7j rim and we did the first with an air line and me lifting the tyre up so not hard usually

they are legal if they are within the manufacturers limits, if not then you run the risk of being pulled even though most coppers dont know what laws they can 'do you' for and most dont even know wether its legal or not

they are completely legal but there are TUV aproved limits

i fitted mine myself at work .. just keep trying places . a mate had to sign a disclaimer when a garage fitted his .. they cant fail an mot for them but weather they are legal or not is another question .. there isnt any law anywhere as far as i know saying you cant stretch tyres .. but if the police pull you and think there dangerous they could tell you to get them off.
