My old man and I have wrapped up our company (Residential Developer) for the next 18 months or so to see what happens with the housing Market. It's going to be tough for a while but we have picked up a load of freelance estimating and QS work so hopefully we can weather the storm and resurrect the company when things pick up again

I work in packaging. Our cap liners are aluminium based. The costs for Ally have gone up considerably. Also, the resins we use have increased.

But, we do have an advantage in that we buy from the USA so make on the exchange rate.

we do some on site testing - acoustic testing of dwellings and air leakage testing of dwellings and commercials.

loads of our clients are saying they are not procurring any new land, and if they have space but work has not started yet then they will just sit on it and see what happens.

Barrat's isn't one of our clients but their name keeps coming up that they are a couble of billion £ in debt. Apparently share prices dropped from something like £10/share to 60p/share.

I just had notice of pay increase last week. It wasn't as much as i was hoping, but i guess i should jump on it and be grateful.
