hi does anyone know what gearbox is best to have on a 20xe running on bike carbs and cams fitted im looking for more midrange power
f20?
f16?
and what ratio close or wide?

20 is rated to 200ft/lb of torque, 16 is 160. Either would be suitable in that regard really as your weak point in the transmission is usually shafts or CVs.
If you want it more responsive you are generally better with a CR box although this will bring your top speed down and therefore number of revs at cruising speed up somewhat.
I like my CR but it revs high at motorway speeds.

will i need to have an f20 then as at the minute i think the torque was 183ft/1b when it was rolling roaded last time and im having some headwork done, so really would an f16 be no good if its only rated to 160ft/1b ? thanks

That's the technical spec, I don't know of many people who have killed one though. They can handle more. There are a few people running F20s on LETs and they're mostly OK.
The custom parts usually fail before the box on a conversion.
