After collecting this
http://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/6211/sara_by_JB.jpg from jamesvalver last night (many thanks bud :thumbs i took the scenic route home and was disappointed with the drive home.
Either i was suffering from a lack of talent/balls or possibly the roads I used yesterday didn't offer such a chance, but "going for a drive" was less enjoyable as I wasn't revving the engine to death but was able to hit 70+ (not that i took the oppertunity of course )
maybe I have been driving a 1.0 litre engine for too long (5 years) but I enjoyed going slower (sub 70) with higher revs in the Corsa than I did hitting 90 last night but rarely above 4k rev/min! the "roaring" engine note was what i enjoyed about driving the Corsa, and even though the ZR has a sporty note from its exhaust didnt give me the same smile not being able to rev the engine so much. Given the 100 extra horses i had the acceleration to make me smile, but not the noise
your comments, do you prefer to drive fast, or hear high revs?

I have a DTi so have to go above 3k for the turbo to kick in properly lol. Im only 20 but I can see myself heading for the James May style of motoring - bigger engine in a bigger car - so I can go fast but not hear the engine

driving my 1.4 16v corsa was oodles of fun with noise and the feeling of pushing it when reving high. Then got a V6 vectra and the speeds when driving that were just a little silly, same now with my VRS.
I know where your coming from!

Why not fast and high revs? I used to take the scoob up to 8k in every gear when I was going for it.
Best car i've ever owned. Miss it alot.

Some cars need to be revved high to get them to go fast.XEs love to be revved.
Used to take my old Pulsar to 7500rpm in every gear as it would pull strong all the way to the redline.
And b4 u knew it u were at max revs in 5th doing silly speeds.Something like 30-40sec after uv set off.lol
