Anyone work for or used this service? Took the car in for a full service the other day and wrote a few details down, guy rang me today offered me a quote of £230 (£19 a month) for the following
£5000 claim cover
No limit on number of claims
All parts and labour covered
Choice of garage
Work completed carries 12 month/12000 mile guarantee
The warranty doesnt cover consumables (tyres bulbs) nor bodywork, clutch plates (:boggle etc etc only the major parts of the engine, suspension.
Anyone think this is a good/bad deal? These sort of 'schemes' worth it?
Thanks
edit - Its run by Warranty Direct, just sold through the garages

You'll find a awful lot of these have a huge list of get out clauses - you make a claim only to find out that what broke (say a cambelt for example) and fucked your entire engine engine is classed as a consumable and they don't pay out....

Hmmm, I am wary of 'insurance' products at the best of times, is there anything out there such as this sort of thing that is good?

i work for these. ant tbh, it is a good deal, the amount of money you could spend on your car if things go wrong, we had someone in today who spend £423 on a mr2, you could save yourself alot of money if you get this, i think its better to have this than not to have it all, because one day something could happen to you car and it may cost you an absolute bomb.
i aint tryin to make the company sound like they are the best in the country cos they aint, and i dnt really like working there lol, shit wage oh well, it summet i gotta live with

My girlfriend took one out on her Fiesta with Warranty Direct. Typical problem on the Zetec engine, it had been run low on oil at some point and the bottom end decided to go or something. They didn't pay out saying it was wear and tear.
Admittedly it was 1 month after taking out the policy but they still didn't pay out.
Also, they often ask you to use a certain garage, which may be far than practical.
