It's in bits
This time last week:

After it got too hot last week on the way back from PVS, and there is no optimax left in the pumps decided to get hunting for the water leak.
MAY have got a little carried away with the stripping though...

Few bits we've taken off:

Even pulled the loom out because i'm petrified it will scratch the paint
Found the leak... Strange one though. Previously fsealed up with Gasketseal.

Valve looks a bit dirty too.
Now I can get on with cleaning the bay up, might send it to the bodyshop
These have got to be bleached and cleaned:
Can I take this black plastic thing off and throw it in the bin?

Got to get jiggy with the waxoyl today lol.

I mean the plastic thing that seems to direct the air into the radiator.
And yeh Inlet Manifold was a cunt! Just took the TB off though and moved the car loom out of the way.

are you sure it's had gasket sealer put on it, as when i took my inlet manifold off, it was exactly the same as that,

I thought that Blue gooey stuff round the edge was Gasket sealer?
Felt like it when I was picking it off earlier.
So far snapped bolts include Thermostat... Bugger Powercap to TB and Radiator Holding thingy
I never snap bolts
Cheers for the good comments about the show. Makes me haha.
The black thing has been taken off and thrown away now. Need to order up some new gaskets from Vaux tomorrow now... Wonder if it will solve my problem though.
Spent today degreasing and cleaning all the bulkhead etc up. Making it look a lot nicer and neater when it goes back together.

Personally i'd have left that on - like you said it forced the air to go through the rad using the pressure from the grille in the bumper. By removing it, you've made it easier for the air to just go round it. There was a change from water to air cooled engines for a good reason!
Oh, and I've got a similar thing on astra grille that blanks off the sides of the intercooler to force the air through it rather than round it!
